Gas Water Heaters/Geysers
Gas water heaters are becoming increasingly popular as a way of saving on the monthly electricity account. Unlike traditional electric geysers, the gas water heaters we supply and install do not store water. They heat the water as it passes through the gas burners. So, as long as you have a supply of LP Gas and water, you have HOT water.
These units come in 6L, 11L, 14L and 18Litres. The term “Liters” refers to liters per minute that pass through the heater. The size of the water heater you chose is dependent on the number of hot water taps that are LIKELY to be in use at the same time. As an example, a 6L unit is adequate for a sink/basin, whereas an 18L unit would be suitable for a sink and two showers operating at once.
Unlike the gas water heaters of old, most of the new units do not have a pilot light. They detect the movement of water and automatically ignite. This ignition system can save up to 96kg of gas per year!
Fagor has launched a new water heater that works in conjunction with solar heating panels. It measures the temperature of the water passing through it from the solar system and ignites if the water temperature is lower than the preset temperature.
